The Last Avalon book?
I had said many years ago that there would be five books in the first series and a possible extra three titles thereafter and the titles of these eight books have been known for some time, but is this the end for Avalon?The Avalon series has been a labour of love when it comes to writing it but I never want to get into the position like many other authors where they just keep knocking out the same book with a different title. I will only write a book if I feel I have enough ideas to make a quality story. The crime/detective genre is a very popular one and there are far too many mediocre stories that are predictable and pointless and they seem to outnumber the really well conceived tales by a considerable amount. I don't wish to find myself in that category and so unless I believe that I have a story to tell I will not undertake it.
Though To Catch a Selkie is pretty much fleshed out as a story, I have no ideas yet for the ending, so to say this will be the final tail of Avalon is not yet decided. I truly have enjoyed writing them so it isn’t something that I want to close.
So in a nutshell, will this be the final story? I simply don’t know. Until the end of the book is finalised and written down, who knows? I hope it isn’t but all good things come to an end.
